Textbooks:

• Pearson OCR AS/A level Biology A Student Books 1 and 2

  • The main textbook we used at my school​

  • Has all the information you need

  • Tad bit wordy, not many diagrams so not the best for visual learners

  • Good to build a foundation of knowledge (probably why we use it in school hahaha)

• Oxford A Level Biology for OCR A 

  • I used the online version on Kerboodle, so lots of additional resources were available​

  • Again, quite wordy but good to build a foundation of knowledge

  • Diagrams are better than in the previous textbook

  • I mainly used the online resources, they have unlabeled diagrams that you can print out and label yourself 

• CGP A-Level Biology: OCR A Year 1 & 2 Complete Revision & Practice

  • *Chefs kiss* cuts to the chase, no waffle​

  • BUT this is best for revision not for learning the content 

  • 10/10 puns that will keep you going

• My Revision Notes: OCR A Level Biology A

  • This book was my saviour for quickly revisiting all the spec with only the key points

  • Great diagrams!!!

  • Very concise

  • My favourite book to revise with, wish I had purchased it sooner!

• Oxford Revise: A Level Biology for OCR A Revision and Exam Practice

  • Has a whole section dedicated to the PAGs

  • I really like the end-of-topic test questions

  • Great for visual learners
